Once Upon A Well is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean water to schools in Cameroon, with plans to expand across Africa. Millions of children in remote areas lack access to safe drinking water, which affects their health and education. Our mission is to tackle this crisis by constructing sustainable water wells at schools, helping students stay hydrated, healthy, and focused on their education.
In 2024, we successfully built our first well in Baleveng, Cameroon, providing clean water to over 200 students and their community. We aim to replicate this success by bringing clean water to more schools, reducing the number of schools without access to safe water. With your support, we can create a lasting impact on the lives of children and communities across Africa.
Meet Our Founders
The founders of Once Upon A Well, Leopold Divine Kenfack and Lionel Njefi, grew up in rural Cameroon and now live in Germany. Having experienced these challenges firsthand, they are determined to bring about change. Leopold, in particular, was deeply inspired by his late mother, Josephine, who instilled in him a strong sense of community and the importance of giving back. Josephine often spoke of her dream to improve the lives of people in her hometown of Baleveng in Dschang through simple yet impactful acts of kindness. After her passing, Leopold promised to honor her legacy and turn her dream into reality.
Join us in transforming lives—your support can bring clean water to schools in Cameroon, giving children the chance to learn, grow, and thrive without the dangers of dehydration or disease. Together, we can build a future where no child is held back by the lack of safe drinking water.
